Job description: We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a full-time Geospatial Web Developer. In this position, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects for our clients that involve geospatial analysis, environmental modeling, and web development oriented to water resources and earth sciences in general. Some of our current and past clients include NOAA, NASA, U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, Virginia Department of Environmental Equality, Montana Bureau of Mines and Geology, WMO, and the World Bank.

Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizen or legal work authorization
  • Proficient in Scientific Python programming (e.g pandas, xarray, numpy)
  • Proficient in Web programming (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Familiarity with open-source Geospatial Information Systems libraries and tools (e.g. OpenLayers, GeoServer, PostGIS, THREDDS)
  • Good communication skills and empathy for clients including the ability to translate technical information into plain language
  • Background in Civil / Water Resources Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field preferred
Helpful, but not required:
  • Tethys Platform application development experience
  • Database programming including SQL and SQLAlchemy
  • React or other JavaScript front-end frameworks

Compensation:
  • $75,000 /yr DOE
